A quarter-life crisis hit its peak for producer/songwriter Matt Sztyk when he lost his job of almost ten years without a moments notice (fired from the clergy on a zoom call). The NJ native then reclused to his Los Angeles apartment and began writing the songs that would go on to become Brite Spot.

The alt indie act led by Sztyk pays homage to the guitar based punk and indie bands he grew up listening to and the alternative / new wave songs that anchored a place for pop outside the mainstream.
